Last week I had a very scary moment in my pregnancy. I woke up not feeling well or right and was experiencing major pressure and pain in my lower abdomen and back. I was also getting contractions (which is not uncommon for me) but they were not subsiding. I went to work and later called Healthlink to ask if what I was feeling was Normal. She advised me to go straight to the hospital, so Elaine drove me and I called Steve. They did some tests and strapped me to a couple different machines.....i could hear the babies heartbeat which was a huge relieve. Steve showed up and they ended up wanting to check to see if I was in labor, i was trying to be tough but it was hard....i was so scared. It turns out the test came back negative and I ended up having a bladder infection...AGAIN. Apparently bladder infections can cause stress on your uterus and can make you go into labor which is why I have having the symptoms. I am so thankful that everything turned out the way that it did.
I have to say that this did affect me for a good few days, I cried to myself and was reserved. A few people may not think it's a big deal but I thought it was and still do. It makes me wonder about every little pain and will probably make me over cautious.
That all happened on May 20,2010 which was Dad's 50th birthday and our nine year anniversary. We went over to mom and dad's for snacks and birthday cake and we still have to take dad out for birthday Dim Sum.
We also had Lindsay's baby shower on the Saturday, there was lots of people and I think it went really well. She got lots of beautiful gifts and Marc-Andre is a baby who is loved so much.
Sunday we had Jarrett and Val's wedding, it was nice and we are happy for them. Monday Steve and I worked a lot around our house and got a few projects complete. I planted all my flowers, hopefully they will do good this year.
Tomorrow night Steve and I along with Denis and Lindsay are going for a cloth diapering consultation to see if this is something we would like to pursue. This lady is from Beaumont and will show us all different types and the pros and cons. We are looking forward to it.
I am feeling pretty good this week, my back is really sore especially when I try and do too much. I am constantly having to use the bathroom (the bladder sure isn't what it used to me) and the best part is I'm finally starting to feel more movement. :)

I know how you feel, Binz. I had a bleed at 27 weeks and it was one of the scariest days of my life. It will stick with you for awhile, but everything is fine now, so just try and stay positive and move forward. You did the right thing by going to the hospital. I hope you are feeling better, don't ever hesitate to call me if you have any questions or concerns, or just want to talk. Love you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. One of the BEST things about having the baby, is having a normal sized bladder back and being able to hold your pee for more than an hour!! SERIOUSLY!! :)
I remember you telling me about that. Thanks, i know you are always there for me.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you this weekend :)
